The Levada Rabaçal – 25 Fontes is one of Madeira’s most popular trails, a true natural masterpiece. The hike begins descending from the famous Paúl da Serra plateau to the Rabaçal shelter, where the trek towards the Risco waterfall starts.

You then follow the Levada das 25 Fontes until you reach a natural lagoon at the base of a rock, from which 25 waterfalls cascade – giving this levada its name. On the return journey, the route passes through a tunnel directing water towards the island’s southern side.

This trail is perfect for those seeking deep nature immersion, stunning landscapes, and a full-day hiking challenge.

  • Hotels pick-ups start at 09h00. Please give a tolerance until 10 minutes;
  • The weather in Madeira is very unpredictable and it can rain at any time of year;
  • There may be days with some fog or low clouds, which do not allow you to see the attractions.
