Geotour Half Day – Terceira Island

On this tour you will visit some of the most beautiful sights of Terceira. This tour takes place in the interior of Terceira Island, where you will have the opportunity to stop at the highest point of the island (Serra de Santa Bárbara, 1021m) and watch the other 3 islands of the Azorean Central Group.

You will also visit the interior of a lava tube (Gruta do Natal) with an extension of approximately 700 meters, a fumarolic field where you can observe the expulsion of gases (Sulphur), a stopover in the Algar do Carvão which is the only volcano in the world that can be explored internally, and last but not least, you will appreciate a stunning landscape from Serra do Cume viewpoint, to contemplate one of the largest craters in the Azores known as the “Manta de retalhos”.

IMPORTANT: Algar do Carvão will be closed from 10 October 2024 for constructions, without date to reopen.
