Sete Cidades & Lagoa Fogo Tour

Our day starts by visiting the traditional pineapple´s plantation, which is a biological culture developed on greenhouses where it’s possible to taste the pineapple´s liquor. The journey continues on the west coast of the island where it´s possible to enjoy the view of both São Miguel’s coasts from the Pico de Carvão‘s viewpoint. Surrounded by the greenest vegetation, we will find Vista do Rei ‘s viewpoint at Sete Cidades volcanic complex. From this point you’ll see the twin lakes, where you’ll also notice that both have distinctly different colors such as blue and green. Then, inside the crater, there´s the stunning Santiago‘s lake which is a mandatory stop and you will understand why as soon as you see the panoramic view. A stop will be made in the picturesque Sete Cidades town where the lunch will be served in a regional restaurant, and after a good meal we will contemplate the beauty of São Nicolau church.

In the afternoon, the tour route will be along the coast while we appreciate the western landscape until we arrive to Escalvado Viewpoint.

Continuing in the north coast, we will stop to visit the Ribeira Grande city and its historic center, as well as we also go to the Regional Liquors’ Factory to taste its liquors. After this sensory experience, we will make an optional stop at Caldeira Velha, a natural reserve, where you can immerse yourself in the warm water of a beautiful waterfall. Our last stop will be at the fantastic Lagoa do Fogo, where you will dazzle its majestic view. Returning to Ponta Delgada, we are going down through Pico da Barrosa, so you can enjoy an amazing view over the island.
